Charleston Sailing Harbor Tours

Our sailing charters can include any combination of harbor tours or off shore sailing trips or even yacht racing for up to 6 passengers.. We have a three hour minimum (dock to dock) for all of our sails which can get you to Fort Sumter and Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge and back. Most cruises circle the entire harbor depending on winds and currents. Add additional time and we can sail either up the Wando River or out through the Jetties to the Atlantic Ocean. Full day sails have enough time to anchor and swim if you wish. Every day is different as the winds and currents dictate our best travel directions, no two trips are exactly alike.

A typical 3 hour harbor cruise will pass by Charleston landmarks such as The Battery, Waterfront Park, Historic Castle Pinckney, under the Arthur Ravanel JR Bridge, and out to Fort Sumter where the Civil War began. You will usually see dolphins playing in the bow wake or feeding in the shallows. If you are an avid bird watcher feel free to bring along a pair of binoculars as there are many species to be seen.

We accommodate small groups who enjoy sailing and we want you to participate as much, or as little, as you would like. Guests can sit back and relax or pilot the sailboat and be as active in the operation of the boat as they wish. Formal sailing instructions can be given as well. Sailing provides the perfect to atmosphere to relax and get away from it all.

Non alcoholic beverages are included with the charter, the fridge is fully stocked with Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and bottled water. We have an additional refrigerator dedicated to your provisions or alcoholic beverages that you wish to bring. See the catering page for options ranging from gourmet sandwich boxes to 4 course dinners.

For that very special occasion, make sure you ask how we can help assist in your planning. We have dozens of romantic marriage proposals each year, and we go along way to make sure everything is perfect! We can arrange many different situations so your loved one will not suspect a thing, photography can be included to capture every moment.

If you wish to partake in the popular Wednesday Night Yacht Racing, check the calender for the schedule here or give is a call. The Wednesday Night summer series starts in May and ends in later August but we race on weekends year round.

Morning charters start as early as 7am and early afternoon tours start at noon or 1pm. Charter length can be extended at the time of booking to longer lengths based on availability.

The most popular time to sail is during sunset, which starts between 2:30pm Winter and 5:30-6pm in the summer months. If you wish to extend the length of the charter, the start time is moved to an earlier time if available. We sailed over 5000 miles with 306 private charters in 2014, We turn down approximately 10 charters every weekend as they book up months in advance, so remember to book early before you miss out. There is a reason Fate is #1 in Charleston, come for a sail with us and find out for yourself.

Approximate sailing times are as follows and are not exact, the sun sets differenlty each day and we adjust the charters accordingly. See the calendar for exact times and availability. For longer charters, we move the times forward to accomodate the extra time but you must call or emali to book custom charters.
